Me: “WordPress and I have continuing disagreements about
the sizes and positions of graphics.
I am comfortable with imperfection.”

As I entered the bookstore, a man was talking to the owner. I heard him name a woman I know. He then talked about her ethnic background.

Me: “I’m her neighbor.”

I named the village we live in.

Flustered Man to Bookstore Owner: “Is that near ————- village?”

Bookstore Owner: “Yes.”

Whatever you say in public goes into the ears of bystanders,
who might know more than you think they know.
