Lisa Williams
CEO
World of EPI (Entertainment, Publishing and Inspiration)
Walmart approached Lisa Williams about adding her Positively Perfect dolls to their stores. Williams knew research technology because she had been a professor, but she had to learn Walmart’s terminology, accounting, and financing. Her research included studying “the business model and the layout of its stores” as well as chatting up shoppers and becoming customer herself. Knowing Walmart’s “lingo” helped her with other clients.

That’s Where I’m At Podcast With Host Laura Richards
“This show is for women still in the middle of the mess, but showing up bravely as they heal.”
Although this show is for women, my father would have benefited from the first episode. It would have helped him understand the mess my narcissist mother made of their marriage.

Leontyne Green Sykes, Introvert

Early in her career, a manager told Leontyne Green Sykes she had to promote herself and spend more time socializing. That left introvert Sykes exhausted. Ikea was her place to be herself.

Women In Traditional Male Roles
“What Are The Difficulties Of Being A Female Repair Tech?
Tanna Marino (34 for this quote) got resistance to being a woman in a repair tech job. People looked at her “cross-eyed” and she doubted herself. While still learning the job, she had to learn confidence in herself.
“I just fixed one machine at a time, and felt stronger after each one.”
Tanna gained personal gratification and self-esteem when doubting customers turned into thankful custoners.
” A positive attitude and drive get you a long way.”
