When you see strangers using words and actions
that fit with your words and actions,
create shine for them.

Strangers will know you’re sincere when they see similarities between your words and actions.

Unexpected benefits can follow.

Example #1: Stranger In A LinkedIn Discussion

The beginning of my shine for strangers is buried in the mists of my memories. I do have a record of one shine for a stranger in 2015. I saw a post on LinkedIn that intrigued me. I contacted the writer, Maria Holdsworth. We connected and I wrote about her more than once, including “One Woman’s Straightforward Get-Out-Of-Bed Success Sparks Life Changing Serendipitous Success For Another Woman”.

I didn’t create shine for Maria to gain something for myself, but I did gain a connection to Maria on LinkedIn. As my connection, Maria gave me valuable feedback for my Inviting Loyalty & Limiting Backlash workshop, which I have since turned into a self-study course, Career Advancement Up / Career Backlash Down. Creating shine for a stranger eventually brought shine to my self-study course.

Example #2: Stranger In A LinkedIn Post

Another shine for a stranger brought me an unexpected benefit. Sunny Simon posted information on LinkedIn about her business, Raise The Bar High. She focuses on interview coaching and resume writing. I believe in raising the bar high in every way possible. I also believe in helping people learn the skills they need to do well. And I recognized Sunny’s positivity. I’ve survived a horrific life by being positive, so I supported her post and shared it.

Sunny commented on my post to thank me and said to let me know if she could do anything for me. She also sent me a connection request. Sunny is ready to create shine for me because I created shine for her when she was still a stranger.

Both Maria and Sunny gave me permission to write about them as examples.
