Listen purposefully for people who
share your purpose

Network With A Purpose

My life has been horrifically painful. My first purpose in life is to ease or end pain for other people. I purposefully look for people who also ease or end pain.

My second purpose is to draw positive attention to people whose work fits with my work, including easing or ending pain.

Third, I draw positive attention to ordinary people who take best & brightest actions.

Creating A Career Catalyst

In 2021, I was randomly searching online for something and came across an article about Beth Wawira in Kenya. Beth rescues abandoned and orphaned children, keeping as many of them in school as she can.

I found Beth on Facebook and contacted her to let her know I wanted to write about her on my Best & Brightest Are Ordinary Facebook page. She was pleased, of course. She eventually invited me to join a Facebook group for African women that welcomed all women. That invitation made Beth a career catalyst.

More Random Networking & A New Career Catalyst

In that Facebook group, I saw a post by Jane Njogu. I gave her some information and we became friends.

At the time, I was transitioning from doing in person and online workshops to making my workshops online self-study courses. I offered Jane my workshops for free to get feedback and reviews. She gave me both.

Jane became certified as a mindset coach and wrote a book that she asked me to read and review. I did both.

After many problems getting this website set up (my web designer had health issues that took months to resolve), I let Jane know the website would be ready soon. She asked me if she could include me in a keynote speech as an example ‘igniting your story.” She would, of course, include the link to my website. The keynote speech was for a global conference.

Listening to the words of a woman easing pain for children in Africa led to a global promotion for me in a keynote speech.

I found an unexpected career catalyst by listening for shared purpose.
